VST-KIT: Multiple Durometer Silicone Kit
Kit includes the following:
VST-50, Shore A 30
VST-30, Shore A 23
LSR-60
A-RTV-40, Shore A 40
A-300-8, Thixo
VST-50 base and catalyst with a 10:1 RTV. VST-50 has high physical properties and very low viscosity. It has a Shore A of 30 and a 6 hour cure time at room temperature. This special kit comes with a 2nd Catalyst, VST-30-C which will also mix with the VST-50 base with a 10:1 RTV. It has a Shore A of 23 and a 30 minute cure time at room temperature. There is no comparable RTV Silicone which possesses these physical properties in a low viscosity silicone elastomer.
As a bonus, we have included in this kit a sample A-RTV-40 with a Shore A of 40. We have found this material to be an excellent elastomer as a lining against tissue. The A-RTV-40 can also be used as an initial bond over the arcrylic before you pack the VST for the main body of a prosthesis.
Another bonus item we are including in the kit is a 1oz bottle of Thixo. Thixo is a great additive for increasing the viscosity (thickening) of silicone elastomers. For a tech sheet on Thixo: CLICK HERE
